Curriculum

We have designed and planned our curriculum to offer experiences which contribute to every child receiving a broad and balanced range of learning opportunities.  The experiences we offer support and champion our culture and ensures that our children benefit from a variety of academic, spiritual, moral, social and cultural activities.  These activities enrich their lives and those of our whole school community and make the pupils reflect on and use our school values. We are proud that our curriculum gives our children the skills, confidence and self-belief to lead a happy and fulfilled life by encouraging them to aim high and work towards their goals and dreams in life.

We love our Music lessons - every child plays an instrument, every week at Brough School.
Outdoor learning is a key part of our curriculum.

As a small school, the heTwiglets Subject Booklet,ad teacher and teaching staff are able to sit down and plan a curriculum which not only works well in each class but links across the school.  Common teaching practices coupled with shared expertise ensure broad and balanced learning opportunities.  This is all done in consultation with parents, governors and the pupils.  Click on each subject heading to find details of how we deliver this across the school, including our subject curriculum maps and action plans.  You can also see summaries of what we are teaching this term in the subject booklets below.

Curriculum Enrichment

Throughout the year, we organise numerous events and introduce initiatives that enhance our curriculum.  Here is last year's summary of what we did to enrich our fabulous learning programme.
