Summer Learning

Summer is a crucial time of year when learning from the previous year's teaching can be lost from children's long-term memory - we call it the Summer Dip! Below, you will find links to fantastic resources for home-school learning. Don't forget that there are also links for children to our favourite sites like Mathletics, on the school pupil page.

Disclaimer

These websites, including use of any content uploaded or linked through it, are accessed by individuals on the basis that the school is not the owner or creator of the resources listed, and you use all content at your own risk.

Access to resources is in most cases free of charge, but it is your responsibility to check whether you have to pay to view and/or copy specific content contained within the resources.

Whole Curriculum

There are no two better resources than the BBC Bitesize and Oak National Academy websites for access to curriculum activites from Early Years to Year 6. Whole lessons or individual activities can be accessed here:

Phonics

Evidence shows that learning phonics is most effective when children are taught by following a single programme exclusively, rather than mixing them up. If parents are to support their child’s phonics learning during school closure, schools should try, as far as possible, to provide materials from the same programme as they use in school.

DfE’s validated phonics programmes, and their resources, are listed below.
